Apache RR 310 (#6)

TVS celebrated the 35th birthday of his Racing Legacy and after so long time finally unleashed the much awaited KTM RC 390 Rival, TVS Apache RR(Racing Replica)310 in India at 2.05 Lakh (ex-showroom). It is powered by BMW G 310 R engine, 313 cc with 6-speed transmission engine. We have two words for it, “Beauty & Beast” and it’s totally mind-blowing. The bike looks so much better than expected. Designers have made this to look like a Shark. The red color looks stunning, gorgeous and a head turner obviously so does the one in the black.

TVS RR 310

  • Design Evolution -
The RR 310 got the life from the concept of TVS AKULA  showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. Experts took 2 years of gap make it much more attractive. The motorcycle has a stunning design and at the front, you get twin-LED headlights and a decently-sized windscreen, both of which are flush-fitting. The fairing panels are sharp and overtly dramatic slashes and ducts make the RR 310 really good-looking.

The motorcycle also has neat Omega-shaped LED tail-lamp which looks very good. The bike seems quite large, but TVS has done well to ensure that it doesn't look disproportionate or distasteful.Excellent Fit and finish with the perfect choice of materials used to make it a  lovable Machine. TVS has also spent around 350 hours in the wind tunnel and claims the best aerodynamics in its class.
  • Features -

The TVS RR 310 has a new unique Vertically arranged cluster which looks totally different from others and it will take some time for the bike owner getting used to it. But as per the expert report, it is actually very informative. The cluster includes a speedometer, tachometer, gear-position indicator, very accurate fuel meter, a clock and also features a readout each for the average speed, 0-60kph timings as well as a lap timer.

Other features include the Dual-LED projector headlamp (which company claims offers best in class performance) and Dual-channel ABS,      both of which come as standard. TVS also has a patent for Hot Air Deflector that intends to divert Engine heat downwards and away from the rider's legs. It's a clever idea in a segment where heat is a common complaint.

  • Engine and Power-
The RR's 312.2cc, single-cylinder, DOHC engine specially designed by BMW in collaboration with TVS produces 34hp at 9,700rpm and 27.3Nm at 7,700rpm while being paired with a six-speed gearbox. But TVS wanted to make it a little bit different from the base unit. That's why the team made a new ECU mapping especially for RR 310 and made the rear sprocket just 1 tooth bigger than BMW G-310 R.And here is the result➠TVS claims a 2.93sec run from 0-60kph(previously it  was 3.7 seconds in BMW G 310 R) and a top speed just upward of 160kph – which are impressive figures.

The engine is a reverse-inclined unit same as BMW, which has helped position the engine further forward and lengthens the swingarm. The machine is essentially a liquid-cooled unit, assisted by an oil coolant and an oil/water heat exchanger, which should provide optimal performance without the typically expected heat levels. TVS has their own engine management system on this bike and what we get gathering all of these features ???
